A live giving counter for Sunday service. For the whole church to see.
Churches have a specific and underserved need: they want to celebrate generosity publicly without either overcelebrating or seeming transactional. A live giving counter during a capital campaign is a staple fundraising tactic, but most churches run it manually — a volunteer updates a slide every hour. The moment is muted.
PingBell is a live giving counter built for the church context. Connect to your giving platform (Tithe.ly, Pushpay, Breeze, Planning Center Giving, or Stripe directly) and every gift updates the lobby TV, the livestream overlay, and the pastor’s phone. No volunteer manually refreshing. Honest, real-time, respectful.
Who this is for
- Churches running capital campaigns (building fund, missions trip, new facility) who want a live thermometer.
- Churches with active giving Sundays or year-end campaigns.
- Mega-churches with multi-campus operations needing per-campus counters plus a network total.
- Faith-based nonprofits running fundraising alongside traditional church giving.
- Religious schools and seminaries running fundraising campaigns.
How PingBell solves it
Every major church giving platform. Tithe.ly, Pushpay, Breeze, Planning Center Giving, Realm, Subsplash, and generic Stripe all connect via Zapier triggers (or OAuth for Stripe/Planning Center). Most setups take 10-15 minutes.
Lobby TV + livestream overlay + pastor’s phone. One counter, three surfaces. The lobby TV shows the Sunday total or campaign total. The livestream producer can pipe the PingBell web embed into their broadcast as a lower-third overlay. The pastor’s phone gets discreet push notifications (optional).
Campaign thermometer. Set the campaign goal and the counter displays as a filling thermometer. Great for visualizing a capital campaign’s progress without numerical fixation.
Privacy-first. You control exactly what the TV shows. Most churches show the total dollars only; others also show the gift count. The TV never shows donor names. Individual notifications with donor names (if desired) stay on the pastor’s phone.
Multi-campus rollups. Each campus’s giving feeds its own counter; the network sees a rolled-up total. Per-campus dashboards can be branded for each location.
Special goal celebrations. Crossing a campaign milestone triggers a visual celebration on the TV and a distinct notification sound. Great for “we hit the match goal” moments.
Setup in 5 minutes
- Create the counter. Name it (“Easter offering 2026”, “Building fund”, “Sunday giving”). Set the goal and choose thermometer display.
- Connect your giving platform. Tithe.ly / Pushpay / Breeze via Zapier; Planning Center via OAuth; Stripe via OAuth.
- Set up privacy settings. Decide what the public TV shows (total, count, or both) and what the pastor’s phone shows (names, amounts).
- Pick a sound. Many churches pick a gentle chime or a “Thank you” voice sample.
- Plug in the lobby TV. streaming stick, install PingBell, pair with a code. Optionally configure the livestream overlay.

FAQ
Does it connect to Tithe.ly, Pushpay, or Breeze directly?
Via Zapier. All three have reliable “New gift” triggers. For real-time (under 3 seconds) latency, we recommend Planning Center Giving or Stripe, which have direct webhook support.
Can I keep donor names private on the public TV?
Yes. By default the TV shows only the aggregate total. Individual gift notifications with donor names go only to the pastor’s phone (or a small group of admins you designate).
Can I use it for the livestream broadcast?
Yes. The PingBell web embed works as a lower-third overlay in vMix, OBS, Wirecast, and most streaming platforms. It shows the live number as a transparent overlay on your video feed.
Can I celebrate crossing a campaign milestone on camera?
Yes. Set milestone thresholds (25%, 50%, 75%, 100% of goal). When a milestone is crossed, the overlay triggers a celebration animation that’s visible on the livestream. Great for building “we did it!” moments into the service.
Does it handle recurring giving correctly?
Yes. Recurring gift renewals fire events just like one-time gifts. Most churches count recurring renewals in the annual giving total but exclude them from capital campaign thermometers (to show only “new campaign gifts”). Filter by gift-type.
Can we show Sunday-only vs. total-year giving?
Yes. Create two counters — one with reset “weekly” (Sunday giving), one with reset “yearly” (annual giving). Show them side by side.
What about anonymous gifts?
Anonymous gifts count toward the total as normal. The notification on the pastor’s phone can be templated to say “anonymous gift of ${amount}”.
Can we display giving in multiple campuses rolled up?
Yes. Per-campus counters plus an aggregate “network” counter. Each campus sees its own dashboard; the senior pastor or operations team sees the rolled-up total.
