A live membership counter on your gym’s lobby TV.
Boutique fitness has a specific energy problem: the front desk knows who just signed up, the owner finds out at the weekly meeting, and the trainers never find out at all. Every new member is a small celebration that vanishes into a spreadsheet. The gym community misses the moment.
PingBell turns every membership event into a lobby TV moment. New members ring a bell on the front-desk iPad and light up the lobby screen. Monthly new-signup count is visible to every trainer walking through. A cancellation shows up too — quietly, with the churn counter ticking down. You manage what you measure; visibility creates accountability.
Who this is for
- Boutique fitness studio owners (CrossFit boxes, Pilates, barre, yoga, spin) running a single-location business.
- Multi-location franchise operators where each location needs its own dashboard plus a network total.
- Gym managers tracking daily signups, cancellations, and trial conversions.
- Personal training businesses tracking new client onboarding.
- Boutique wellness brands (cold plunge, sauna, recovery) running membership models.
How PingBell solves it
Works with your gym software. Mindbody, ClubReady, Glofox, Zen Planner, PushPress, WellnessLiving — all connect via Zapier (which has triggers for most of them) or via custom webhook if your platform exposes one. For the underlying payment processor, Stripe is directly supported via OAuth.
Lobby TV + owner phone. One counter, two surfaces. The lobby TV shows the current month’s signups. The owner’s phone gets a push every time the counter moves. Trainers can also subscribe from their phones.
Per-location dashboards for franchises. If you run multiple studios, each location gets its own counter plus an all-locations network total.
Signup vs. cancellation views. Most studios show net new memberships (signups minus cancels) as the headline counter, with separate “Signups this month” and “Cancels this month” sub-counters. PingBell supports all three simultaneously.
Goal progress. Set a monthly signup goal. The lobby TV shows the progress bar filling as the month goes on. Great for keeping the front desk team focused on the specific number.
Setup in 5 minutes
- Pick your data source. Most studios: Stripe (for the payment event) + Mindbody/ClubReady via Zapier (for the membership-created event).
- Create the counter. “New members this month”. Set the reset period to monthly. Optionally add a goal.
- Connect. Stripe OAuth; Mindbody/etc. via Zapier “New Client” or “New Membership” triggers.
- Pick a sound. A literal bell is the gym cliché for a reason — it works.
- Plug in a Fire Stick or Apple TV at the lobby. Install the PingBell TV app. Pair with a code.
Pricing for this use case
Single-location studios: Plus at $25/mo covers 5 counters (net new, signups, cancels, trial conversions, revenue) and 5 staff members. Multi-location franchises: Pro at $50/mo for 15 counters and 15 staff members across locations.

FAQ
Does it connect to Mindbody directly?
Not directly (yet — Mindbody’s API requires a partner agreement we’re working on). Today, Zapier’s Mindbody triggers connect in minutes and are reliable.
What about ClubReady / Glofox / Zen Planner / PushPress / WellnessLiving?
All connect via Zapier. ClubReady and Glofox also expose webhook triggers directly, which is faster than Zapier polling.
Can I show trial conversions separately from paid memberships?
Yes. Two separate counters. Filter the “Trial” counter by membership type; filter the “Paid” counter by the paid-tier filter. Both display simultaneously.
Can the lobby TV show multiple metrics (signups, revenue, class attendance)?
Yes. Configure a rotation of up to 5 counters with custom dwell times. Most studios rotate through “new members this month”, “class attendance today”, and “MRR”.
Does it handle membership holds and pauses?
Yes. A membership pause typically fires a specific event in your gym software. Map that to a counter decrement (or to a separate “on hold” counter). Most studios track it as a separate warning counter rather than subtracting from the main signup total.
What about multi-location franchises — can corporate see a network total?
Yes. Create per-location counters and a “Sum” counter that aggregates them all. Corporate sees the network; each location sees just their own.
Is there a staff-only notification mode?
Yes. The lobby TV is public-facing and shows the counter; only staff who’ve installed the PingBell mobile app and signed in to your account receive the push notifications. The TV stays generic; the staff gets the alert.
