If you run a paid Skool community, every new paid member is a moment worth celebrating. Skool’s built-in email notification works, but it doesn’t ring a bell on every team phone or tick a counter on a TV behind your desk. PingBell does. Here’s how to wire it up.
What is PingBell?
PingBell is a web and mobile app that lets you create custom notifications for events on websites and apps — including Skool. Every event becomes a push notification, a counter increment, and a graph point.
Step 1: Create a PingBell
Sign up. Visit PingBell.io and create a free account. From the dashboard, click the button in the middle to create your first PingBell.
Configure it. Set a title and description (“New paid member”, “Skool community joined”). Pick a sound from PingBell’s library — bells, cheers, chimes, gongs (70+ to choose from). Invite teammates so the bell rings on their phones too.
Step 2: Set up the Skool trigger via Zapier
Skool connects to PingBell through Zapier.
Create a Zap. Sign in to Zapier and click Create Zap.
Pick the Skool trigger. Search for Skool and pick an event — New Paid Member is the obvious choice. You may need to provide your Skool API key and community URL during setup.
Test the trigger. Use a recent paid signup to confirm Zapier can read the data.
Set the PingBell action. Search for PingBell in the action step and select Notify PingBell.
Authenticate. Get your PingBell API key (user icon → Settings → API Key) and paste into Zapier.
Pick which PingBell. Select the one you created in Step 1.
Save and test. Have a teammate sign up at $0 (or use a test cohort) and confirm the notification fires.
Step 3: Customize the counter view
Open the view. Click the celebration icon next to your PingBell. Hover the right side of the screen to reveal the settings menu.
Enable the visual counter. Toggle it on.
Pick a message style. Static (always shows title), disappearing message, or disappearing bubble.
Customize the look. Pick a Google Font and your brand colors.
Step 4: View analytics
Click the graph icon next to any PingBell to see how often it fired in the past 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. Useful for spotting which marketing pushes drive the most paid signups.
