PingBell
Getting started

Custom notification sounds

Every counter can have its own sound. Pick from PingBell's library of 70+ built-in sounds — bells, cheers, chimes, cash registers, gongs, and more.

Changing a counter's sound

  1. Open the counter in the PingBell dashboard
  2. Go to Notifications → Sound
  3. Browse the library — 70+ sounds, organized by mood (celebratory, alert, gentle, classic). Examples:
    • Bell (default, classic ring)
    • Cash register
    • Cheer
    • Chime
    • Gong
    • Horn
  4. Click the play icon next to any sound to preview it.
  5. Save. The new sound takes effect on the next event.

Best practices

  • Distinctive across counters. If you're running 5 counters, make each sound obviously different. Otherwise the team can't tell what just happened without looking.
  • Match the vibe. A sales team wants a bell or cheer. A support team wants a gentle chime. A fundraising team might want applause.

Different sounds for different events

If you want the same source to play different sounds for different event types (e.g. one sound for standard orders, a distinct sound for large orders), create two counters and give each its own sound.

Custom MP3 uploads

Uploading your own MP3 is a feature we're working on but haven't shipped yet. Today, every counter picks from the built-in library. If a specific sound would help you, email [email protected] with what you're looking for — we add to the library based on what customers ask for.

Troubleshooting

I don't hear any sound

Check the counter's sound settings, then check the recipient device's notification settings. iOS Focus modes, Android Do-Not-Disturb, and the PingBell app's own Quiet Hours can each suppress sound independently.
