Using PingBell

Custom celebration sounds

Every source can have its own sound. Pick from PingBell's library of 70+ built-in sounds — bells, cheers, chimes, cash registers, gongs, and more.

Changing a source’s sound

  1. Open Sources in the web app and click the pencil icon on the source.
  2. Pick a Sound category and a Sound. The library has 70+ built-in options across categories like Bell, Chime, Gong, Horn, Voice, Winning, and Woo Hoo — a sample plays as you browse, and the button replays it.
  3. Click 🎉 Preview to hear it inside the full celebration — confetti, message, and all.
  4. Click Save. The new sound plays on the next event, on every screen showing that source.

You can also change the sound without leaving the board editor: select a counter block and pick the sound under Celebration — it updates the source directly.

Best practices

  • Distinctive across sources. If five sources feed your screens, make each sound obviously different — the team should know what just happened without looking.
  • Match the vibe. A sales floor wants a bell or a cheer. A support team wants a gentle chime. A fundraiser might want applause.

Different sounds for different events

Sounds live on the source, so to give different event types different sounds, create a source per event type — “Orders” rings the cash register, “Big orders” rings the gong — and point each at its own counter or the same board.

Troubleshooting

I don’t hear any sound

Check the screen’s mute chip first (bottom-left of any cast surface — see muting sounds on a screen). Browsers also require one tap before a page may play audio — if the screen shows Tap to enable sound, tap it once.
